Our new name represents the expansive 8-county region we serve, which includes Cayuga, Cortland, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Onondaga, Oswego, and Seneca counties. By adopting the name North Central SBDC, we aim to better connect with the regional communities and businesses we proudly assist.

For 40 years, the North Central SBDC, hosted by Onondaga Community College in Syracuse and Jefferson Community College in Watertown, has been a trusted resource for entrepreneurs. We offer no-cost, confidential advisement services tailored to every stage of the business journey—from pre-venture planning to succession strategies. Over the years, we’ve supported more than 59,000 individuals, helped launch over 4,500 businesses, and contributed to over $750 million in small business investment. While our name has changed, our mission remains the same: to empower entrepreneurs and strengthen our local economy through personalized business support.
